1. How far should I stand from the impact screen?
For best performance and safety, stand 10–12 feet from the screen. This provides optimal ball flight tracking and helps extend the life of your impact screen.

2. Can I use any golf mat with this enclosure?
Yes — any high-quality hitting mat will work. We recommend mats between 4′×5′ and 4′×9′, depending on your stance width and whether you need both right- and left-handed play.

3. What’s the main difference between the DIY and Pro enclosures?
The DIY Kit is perfect for home setups and golfers who want an affordable entry-level system.

The Pro Enclosure is built for commercial or high-end home installations — with a sturdier frame, light-absorbing materials, and optional safety and lighting upgrades.

4. How do I mount my projector correctly?
Projector placement depends on your room size and throw ratio. You can ceiling-mount, frame-mount, or even floor-mount with a protective cover.

5. What are EMT pipes, and do I need to buy them separately?
“EMT” stands for Electrical Metal Tubing, the same metal used in conduit systems. The Pro Enclosure requires 2″ EMT (actual 2.197″ outer diameter).
You can either purchase the pre-cut Carl’s Place Pipe Framing Kit or source EMT locally using the provided cut sheet.

6. Does the kit come with the framing pipes?
No, the standard kit includes fittings and connectors, but not the pipes. If you prefer a ready-to-assemble solution, select the Pipe Framing Kit add-on.

7. What if the enclosure material gets hit by a golf ball?
The black sidewalls and ceiling are not designed for direct impact, but occasional rebounds from the impact screen are perfectly fine and won’t cause damage.

8. Can I steam or iron my impact screen to remove wrinkles?
Avoid ironing — the heat can damage the fibers. Instead, tension the screen tightly during setup and allow it to relax for a few days.

For minor wrinkles, use a consumer-grade steamer with distilled water to smooth the surface safely.

9. How long does assembly take?

Most users complete installation in about two hours with the new 2025 one-piece wraparound design. For larger bays, having an extra set of hands helps speed things up.

10. What clearance should I allow around the enclosure?
Allow 6–7″ above for ceiling clearance and 2–3″ on each side for proper tensioning. You’ll also need around 10″ behind the enclosure for fittings and cable management.

11. Are there replacement screens available?
Yes — replacement screens and spare parts are available directly through My Golf Direct or Carl’s Place.

12. How do the ball bungees work?
Simply thread the looped end through the grommet, pull until the ball touches the screen, wrap around the pipe frame, and hook the loop over the ball to secure.
